Ancient lead mine, working a lead, zinc and copper bearing vein of the so-called Wellmich-Werlau vein system.
Located near Werlau, about 3.5 km west of St Goar. Some dumps remain in the area near Boxberger Hof, about 1.5 km west of Werlau.
