This locality is one of the ~40 “genetically” sub-localities (*) (revealed and/or summarized in Cuchet and al. (2022)) of the giant alpine rare-earth mineralization - with its topographical extension of ~ 20x45 km, in Switzerland and Italy - situated into one precise level of gneiss of the Monte Leone nappe.
In this locality, the REE-mineralisation can be encountered in place above the Fleschsee lake, under the east ridge of Wannihorn until below the pass Halbelfjoch between Wannihorn and Fleschhorn.
Some fallen mineralized boulders have been occasionally found until the lake itself
