A former lode Cu-Zn-Au occurrence/mine located in sec. 13, T15N, R6E, MDM, 4.3 km (2.7 miles) N of Spenceville, W of Hackett Creek and SSE of Allenwood Hill. Owned/operated by H. C. Lewis (1941- ). MRDS database accuracy for this location is not stated.
Mineralization is a replacement deposit hosted in diabase. The ore body is 0.91 meter (3 feet) in thickness. Controls for ore emplacement included a shear zone. The ore occurs along the shear zone in altered diabase near a contact with granodiorite. Local rocks include Mesozoic granitic rocks, unit 3 (Sierra Nevada, Death Valley area, Northern Mojave Desert and Transverse Ranges).
Workings include underground openings comprised of a 12 foot adit.
production information: The ore yielding 5% Cu and $7 (period values) of Au was shipped. Cu production was less than 100,000 pounds.
