A small former surface and underground Pb-Zn-Cu-Au-Ag-V mine located in sec. 17, T6S, R20E, 3.9 miles SSE of Aravaipa, 3 km N of NNW of the Grand Reef Mine on the western slope of the Santa Teresa Mts, north of Laurel Canyon, on or near Cobre Grande Mountain near Klondyke. Produced 1916-1954. Past operators include Flick and Merrill; Albert Thurman; J.T. Corn; and J.F. Rydborn. Also known as / designated: Aravaipa Leasing Co. property; Aravaipa Patented claim MS 1783.

Mineralization is a tabular ore body hosted in Horse Mountain volcanics in several fault zones. Mineralization occurs in gouge along faults. The ore zone strikes N40W and dips 88SW. Quartz crystals occur in vein druses. An associated rock unit is the Laurel Canyon Granodiorite. Ore control was the Grand Reef and associated faults. Ore concentration was fissure filling and replacement.

Area structures include block faulting trending NNW. Regional trends: minor Pre-Cretaceous E- and NE-trending folds and major Post-Cretaceous NNW-trending faults.

Workings include several short adits, a 120 foot deep shaft, 1 opencut, and about 500 feet of drifts. Workings are connected with the Aravaipa Mine's. Production years: 1924, 1952, & 1954.
