Volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) Zn-Pb-Cu-Au deposit.

Rich silver ore was discovered in 1735, and then mined by both overground and underground methods.

Developed from 1745-1871.

After the ores were more or less exhausted, the local smelter ceased to work in 1893.

Half of the Altai silver came from this deposit.

In the 1920s and 1930s polymetallic (Pb, Zn, Cu) mineralisations were discovered in the surroundings.

A mining museum was re-opened in 1985.
