Xinfang gold deposit (>20 t; 2.85 g/t) is located in the western part of the Xinfang orefield and hosted by the Archean gneiss in the footwall and Neoproterozoic metasandstone in the hangingwall of the Xinfang Metamorphic Core Complex. Which is different from the other gold deposits controlled by the high/low angle fault system in the Liaodong Peninsula.
A total of 59 orebodies, which contain a large amount of ore, have been recognized in the mining area. These orebodies can be divided into two ore zones, namely the west ore zone and the southeast ore zone. The west ore zone, which is composed of 25 quartz vein type and 3 altered rock type gold orebodies, extends for ca. 2000 m along the NNE strike, with a width of >600 m, dips toward the SE at ∼105Β°, and >500 m down plunge, and the west zone orebodies account for ∼33.39% of the total ore reserves. The largest orebody (no. 27–1; average grade of 2.96 g /t) in the west ore belt, which is characteristic of auriferous quartz veins type ores
