Former copper mine operated 1858-1864, consisted of many small open pits and 5 shafts. The site of the mine is built over. The remains of this mine are in the east side of the Actonvale Quarry. The Acton mine is a copper deposit found and mined in 1855. It is located on the east rim of the Actonvale Quarry. It was formed by epigenetic karstic mineral deplacement in the Acton early ordivician limestones, shale and volcanic rocks.
