Outcrop of melilite- nepheline-bearing leucititic lava located near the Laurentina Road, 8.5 km south of Rome. Quarries were operated near Casali di San Sisto.
The rock frequently hosts small cavities containing calcite, often associated with zeolites; moreover calcite is present in form of veins and is also noticeable under a microscope dispersed in the groundmass, often surrounding leucite and nepheline crystals.
