A small mine located 1.5 kms WSW of Bontgoch, worked a section of the Hafan vein to depth of 46 fathoms below the adit. Trial tenching had been carried out in 1848. In 1870 a rich shoot of galena was found at surface. The mine contiued untill 1884 recorded output is 901 tons of lead ore and 183 tons of zinc ore. The was a short abortive trial in 1881-82.
The site straddles the track that services the wind farm. In the valley bottom are extensive sand dumps around modern farm buildings. Further up the hillside are several building ruins and rock dumps, whilst at the top of the site beside the track is a shaft collar and very small dump that has been recently dug over and contaminated with material brought in for surfacing the track.
