This Cu-As-Ag-Co vein discovered in the XVIth century is the fifth from background Rauenthal valley.
Zero level entry is located in border of Rauenthal brook.
A little schaft join the Tiefstollen adit not far from his entry for waters drainage.
Chrétien middle and upper mines, Cobalt Schaft and undergrounds levels (works are known under -125m) has worked the Chrétien vein on the Rauenthal side. Probably that Gott Hilft Gewiss mine has worked this vein from Liepvrette side. During centuries some names has probably change, from XVI to XVIIth century.
At XVIIIth century a new age begun with cobalt ore into Rauenthal valley (1711).

The mine and vein are named after Chrétien II de Birkenfeld, who received from his father Prince Palatin Birkenfeld de Deux Ponts, the nobility De Ribeaupierre ( also called Rapoltstein ) and is in some literature erronerously called St Chrétien.

As this locality lies in the Sainte Marie-aux-Mines district, the place is protected by a archaeological mining district status and all collecting is prohibited.
