Hvaler is a municipality which consist of an island group located on the East side of the mouth of the Oslofjorden. It is known for several, abandoned and overgrown feldspar and quartz quarries in granite pegmatite dikes that was operated in the end of the 19th century, and at the time produced mineral specimen among them monazite and xenotime-(Y).
