Pb-Ag-Zn-baryte mine, currently abandoned. This mine has exploited a Pb, Ag, Zn, Cd, Cu, Fe, Sb, As, Ni, Co polymetallic lode, part of the Valsassina five-elements hydrothermal system (Vergani, 2019).
Passo Camisolo ore body consists of a big lode about 400 m long, over 150 m high and with a thickness varying from 2 to over 4 m, set along a NNW-SSE trending fault plane. The lode is hosted within the rocks of the Permian volcano-clastic cover: Ponteranica Conglomerate and Laghi Gemelli Fm (ex Collio Fm.). During the 20th century, the lode was exploited for barite, galena sphalerite and argentiferous tetrahedrite extraction. The main metallic minerals are galena, argentiferous tetrahedrite, cadmian sphalerite (also associated with coarse greenockite crusts) and minor chalcopyrite, with pyrite, arsenopyrite, bournonite and stibnite as accessory minerals (Vergani, 2019). Gersdorffite and a mineral like skutterudite are osservable in a quart-carbonates vein parallel to the main lode, with also minor Ni-Co arsenates (Vergani, 2019). The gangue consists mainly of spathic barite, with locally diffused microcrystalline quartz and minor siderite, usually present as small veinlets or disseminations.
The lode is clearly zoned, in the northern portion on the slope of Val Biandino the mineralization consists mainly of barite, with argentiferous tetrahedrite as principal metallic mineral. In the southern portion of the lode, near the Camisolo Pass, the mineralization is dominated by fine-grained galena, massive sphalerite and widespread disseminations of argentiferous tetrahedrite, with mainly barite gangue in the upper portion of the ore body, and quartz gangue with frequent siderite disseminations, often completely altered, in the deepest portion.
The lode maintains a constant thickness of approximately 2 m in the southern portion of the mining area, and thickness even higher than 4 m in the northern portion.
In general, the lode is rich of secondary minerals, mainly carbonates, sulfates, arsenates and various minerals of Pb, Cu, Sb and Zn. These secondary minerals, probably of supergene origin, are widespread in all parts of the ore body (Vergani, 2019; Vergani et al., 2020). In addition, quartz and barite blocks with large dissolution cavities, often filled of secondary minerals, are locally frequent in the dumps.

The mine consists of four main levels: Santa Barbara (1962 m) and Lina (1988 m) in the upper Val Biandino, Introbio (Lecco province); Ida (2018 m) and Giulia (2052 m) near the Alberto Grassi hut (Rifugio Alberto Grassi) in upper the Val Foppabona, Valtorta (Bergamo province).
