E26 ore body
E26 operates as an underground mine.
Excellent sampleite has been found on a large stockpile of secondary copper ore.
A surface and underground Au-Cu mine complex operated by the Rio Tinto company. Several pipe-like ore bodies are mined (E22, E26, E27; E48 is currently - 2008 - being developed).
Located about 30 km N of Parkes, near the town of Goonumbla.
Porphyry-type vein mineralisation in monzonite (Goonumbla volcanic complex). Main ore minerals are bornite, chalcopyrite and pyrite. Gold is included in these phases.
