Schelingen is a wine village in the Kaiserstuhl region of southwest Germany.
On January 1, 1975, Schelingen was incorporated into the town of Oberrotweil, whose name was changed to Vogtsburg im Kaiserstuhl on April 15, 1977.
Schelingen is the easternmost town of Vogtsburg in the center of the Kaiserstuhl. To the west is Oberbergen, which is connected via Schelingen on a district road to Bahlingen in the Emmendingen district, five kilometers to the east.
The agricultural village lives mainly from viticulture. The vineyard area is about 61 ha.
To the south of the village lies the 435 m high Badberg, which is completely covered with nutrient-poor grassland. In the nature reserve there, which is 42 hectares in size, you will find flora and fauna that are extremely rare in Germany.
