Miniera di barite di Fiumarella (Giacimento di barite di Fiumarella; Miniera di barite Mastricarro), Catanzaro, Provincia di Catanzaro, Calabria, Italia
Baryte veins up to 2 m in thickness, embedded in granodiorites and porphyres of the Stilo Unit, on the left bank of Fiumarella stream at Molino Mastricarro, W of the city of Catanzaro.
Baryte in association with subordinate fluorite, galena, and chalcopyrite was intensively exploited from 1968 to 1980 by the company Industrie Minerarie Meridionali. About 5,000 m of galleries have been excavated. The abandoned mine workings are easily reachable from Centro Ippicco Valle dei Mulini.
