The Jialu REE deposit consists of Archean to Early Paleoproterozoic basement rocks covered by Proterozoic volcanic and sedimentary sequences. The basal structural layer is the ArcheanβPaleoproterozoic Taihua Group, overlain by the Mesoproterozoic Xiongβer Group, comprising mainly biotite plagioclase gneiss, granites, plagioclase amphibolite, quartzite, and marble. The Xiongβer Group is represented by the Mesoproterozoic volcanic rocks, such as andesite, dacite, and tuff.
Outcropped strata are the Wujiaping Formation of the Archaean TTG gneiss suite consisting of biotite plagiogneiss and biotite amphibole plagiogneiss. Aegirineβaugite syenite and Arfvedsonite syenite are locally distributed. Ore-bearing carbonatite veins are mostly composed of manganese-bearing calcite, with some quartz and K-feldspar. Some ore-bearing carbonatite veins occur as large veins or reticulated veins and locally extend to the Archean biotiteβplagioβhornblende gneiss, of which the former is more extensively mineralized. The length of the carbonatite veins is generally βΌ 55β247 m, varying in thickness from 1 to 3 m. The large ore vein (No. G54) reaches 444 m in length and 3β6 m in thickness, with light potassic alteration and silicification.

Stage II is distinguished by standalone minerals such as monazite, xenotime, and bastnΓ€site. Monazite mainly appears in this stage, mostly as blades and plates with a typical grain size >10 ΞΌm.
