The Sardob deposit is situated in the upper Sardob Say valley, close to the border with Uzbekistan. Already exploited in the antiquity, the deposit was rediscovered in 1925 and mined since 1959.

The hydrothermal polymetallic vein-type mineralization is disseminated in all the Paleozoic rocks occurring in the deposit, but the highest concentration is reached in the areas of fragmented, quarzified and sericitized rocks, observable in the granite intrusion.

The Sardob deposit is the type locality for nasledovite, found in the oxidation zone of the deposit in the form of small white aggregates (up to 3 mm) in association with cerussite in the loose pyrolusite and limonite mass filling cracks in granodiorite porphyry.
