Important historic gold mining area, located just north of the Kluidscharte at an alt. between 2460-2490 m.

Rochata (1878) names the following adits: "Rosina-, Mathias-, Zubau-, Schieferstollen".
Pichler (2009) mentions the Tabakpfeiffen shaft as very rich in gold.

Waschgang is a stratiform, dominantly pyritic deposit, hosted by greenschists ("Alpine Kieslager") and was studied by Paar & Chen (1982). The ores occur as impregnations (type 1) and as massive ores (type 2) in prasinitic rocks. Ore of type 1 is rather monotonous (major pyrite, minor chalcopyrite, bornite, sphalerite, and magnetite; no visible gold). Ore of type 2 is dominanted by chalcopyrite and contains large amounts of visible gold.
