Various outcrops of asbestiferous serpentinite occur in the municipal territory of Emarèse; exploration and exploitation works were performed on some of them (from 1872 to 1968). The most important exploitation workings for asbestos are located at Settarme ( Settarme-Chassan Mine ), to the N of Chassan village, and on the western slope of Mont Orbè (also known in the literature as Monte Fobè), to the E of Erèsaz (Erèsa) village.
Rodingitic rocks outcropping at Mont Obrè are characterised by the presence of brown andradite and green vesuvianite. Perovskite has been found in the chlorite shell surrounding rodingitic bodies.
Druses of dolomite and quartz are found in the amphibolic rocks (Castello, 1981). Finds of chalcopyrite in amphibole (Jervis, 1873) and of galena and pyrite in quartz gangue have also been reported (Barelli, 1835; Jervis, 1873).
