Serpentinite quarry at ca. 1550 m a.s.l., above the hamlets of Clef and Urgnasch (Urgnasco), opened by A. Jochum in 1932 near the abandoned asbestos mines (indicated as Urgnasco asbestos mines on old Swiss maps).
In his study on the metallic minerals included in serpentinite from the Selva-Quadrada area, De Quervain (1963) used 24 polished sections from the quarry.
Yellow-green andradite crystals up to 6-7 mm, embedded in fibrous asbestos and associated with magnetite and veinlets of carbonates, were found during quarrying at the end of the 1960s.
