A small skarn-type copper and iron ore deposit, mined from 1912 until 1974 (1958 production 19,000 t Fe; average Fe content of ore 39.5%). Carboniferous pyroclastic and sedimentary rocks (greenstone and limestone) are cut by igneous intrusions (quartz porphyry, porphyrite, gabbro, granite and granodiorite). The ore body and the skarn are developed along the contact zone of gabbro.
