A large, active quarry in the 'Bunte Serie' series of metamorphic rocks (biotite- and hornblende gneisses, amphibolites, calcsilicate rocks, marbles). Rare pegmatite veins, mainly in the western part of the quarry, now removed due to the quarrying activities, produced schorl/tourmaline, beryl and cordierite (compare also the different, but nearby locality 'Pegmatite outcrops, Eibenstein'). In early 2017, another interesting pegmatite, with minute Cs minerals (Kolitsch et al., 2022), was exposed by blasting.

Located about 300 m NE of Eibenstein an der Thaya.

Owned by the Hengl Company (note that this company also owns other quarries - in granite and marble - in the Waldviertel region.)
