Undersaturated kaersutite-bearing gabbroic dykes running parallel to the fiord on the southern side. All of the minerals listed for this locality occurs as up to 1 cm large phenocrysts. For the groundmass composition, please see Brooks and Platt (1975).

Note 1: Brooks and Platt (1975) did not identify the accurate (OH) content of the amphiboles. In the naming the amphiboles analysed by them, the normalization and naming conventions of Hawthorne et al. (2012): Nomenclature of the amphibole supergroup are used, except for the oxo-magnesio-hastingsite which is clearly stated as an oxy-amphibole.

Note 2: There are at least four places named Kangerdlugssuaq on Greenland. This is the one on the east coast.
Not to be confused by the Kangerlussuaq Fjord in the western Greenland.
