Ref.: (in part): Mining Annual Review (1985):407. Mitsui mining exploited several orebodies, including the Tochibora ore body, Urushiyama ore body and Maruyama ore body, in skarns. Was at one time the largest zinc mine in East Asia and the most efficient zinc mine in the world. Closed in 2001 or 2002, since which time the mine has been used by Tokyo University for an underground neutrino observatory. No entry for collectors.
