Area of the Gloggnitz municipality, there are outcrops, approximately 1000 x 250 m size, of lenses of peralkaline gneisses ("riebeckite gneisses"; probably metamorphosed alkali rhyolites) immediately west of the town of Gloggnitz. These lenses lie within the Silbersberg Series.
The Schlossberg quarry extracted the gneiss.
