A small epigenetic copper of deposit of post Permian age. Some veins are also present.

Historical copper(-silver-cobalt-manganese) and iron mining district with its heyday around 1750. During the following decades, the mines quickly lost importance, but were not closed until 1921. The ores, concentrated in clefts and fault zones of a permian quartz-porphyry (rhyolite), were mined mainly from open cuts. At some places in the area, local concentrations of cobalt, nickel and silver ores were mined as well.
