This very important quarrying basin, located to the E of Miseglia in the homonymous valley (Valle di Miseglia), also known as Valle di Miseglia-Fantiscritti or less properly as Valle di Fantiscritti (from the name of its most famous quarrying area), includes about 50 quarries (30 of which are still active).

Miseglia valley corresponds to the hydrographic basin of Fosso di Canal Grande and its right-side affluent Canale Piccinino.
