Elacite Mine
A porphyry copper deposit.
The open pit extends into the northern portion of Chelopech Municipality.
Mineral assemblages have homogenization temperatures between 576-β330Β° and 250-β140Β° based on fluid inclusions in quartz. At Elatsite, the porphyry hydrothermal paragenesis consists of: early magnetiteβquartz; magnetiteβborniteβchalcopyrite; pyriteβchalcopyrite; quartzβmolybdenite; and late quartzβpyrite, quartzβgalenaβsphalerite, and quartzβcarbonateβzeolite veins.
Potassic alteration is spatially associated with the mineralization of the quartzβmagnetite and magnetiteβborniteβchalcopyrite stages, which host the majority of the Pd and Pt in the deposit.
Located about 8 km NW of the Chelopech Mine.
