Deseado Department is a department in Santa Cruz Province, Argentina. It has an area of 63,784 km². The seat of the department is in Puerto Deseado.
Outcrops of Cretaceous and Tertiary sedimentary formations with favourable facies, where through quick aerial surveys several radioactive anomalies were discovered, which correspond with uranium deposits hosted in Cretaceous sandstones and copper veins in granite-dioritics bodies.
