The Powder River Basin is a large Cenozoic and Mesozoic foreland basin in eastern Wyoming and southeastern Montana. It is bordered on the north by the Miles City Arch, on the east by the Black Hills Uplift, on the south by the Hartville Uplift and the Laramie Uplift, and on the west by the Bighorn Uplift.
