La Paz County is a county in the western part of the U.S. state of Arizona. The county seat is Parker. The name of the county is the Spanish word for "the peace", and is taken from the early settlement (now a ghost town) of La Paz along the Colorado River, which forms the western boundary of the county.

La Paz County was established in 1983 when residents of the northern part of Yuma County voted to form a separate county.

The newly formed county encompasses a number of famous mineral localities, such as the Red Cloud mine, which formerly were within the boundaries of Yuma County. Specimen labels and literary references that were prepared prior to 1983 (and probably some prepared since) still place those localities in Yuma County.
