A volcanic mountain range in the central highland of Madagascar which runs south-southwest of the capitol Antananarivo. It covers an area of about 5200 square km and is located in 2 different regions in the Antananarivo Province; Itasy and Vakinankaratra. The Ankaratra Mountains is bordered by the towns Arivonimamo to the North, Ambatolampy to the East, Betafo to the South and Faratsiho to the West. The highest peak is 2643m.
