(Kraj Vysočina)
Vysočina region is partially in both historic regions of Moravia and Bohemia. Its geology is complicated and interesting, consisting of many types of igneous and methamorphic rocks of various genesis and age. Well known are many classical pegmatite sites (Dolní Bory, Rožná, Věžná) and uranium mining sites, sometimes with selenides and tellurides (Petrovice, Slavkovice). From these sites several TL minerals were published.
Vysočina is a mostly hilly terrain with altitudes between 450-700m and contains a lot of forests, fields and meadows. Most areas are pretty quiet countryside, many sites are difficult to localize or reach by public transportation. Though Vysočina is not at a much high altitude, winters can be surprisingly strong and long.
